Wind energy is one of the most important energy sources today and plays a major role in achieving the goals of the Paris (2015) and Glasgow (2021) Climate Accords. To meet the rising demand for wind energy, more wind turbines are needed. WhisperRing® turbines operate more effectively than conventional turbines and can therefore accelerate the energy transition.

WhisperRing® wind turbines reduce the cost of wind energy, by increasing the efficiency of wind turbines. Moreover, thanks to efficient and automated production processes, turbine acquisition and installation costs are lower. As a result, even less tall turbines can be operated profitably. So good news in the face of constantly rising energy costs!

The design of the WhisperRing® is particularly human- and animal-friendly. Thanks to the lower rotational speed, collisions with birds and bats are less likely, the cast shadow is less of a nuisance and there is much less noise. And actually, the WhisperRing® looks a lot more fun, too!

The technologies used in WhisperRing® turbines are continually being developed in terms of performance, applied materials and manufacturing techniques. The manufacturing and maintenance process of the turbines is also continuously optimized.

Thanks to the WhisperRing® patented annular generator and carbon design, a highly efficient wind turbine has been created with lower costs. The design combines proven techniques from aerospace, electrical and mechanical engineering. The result is an optimally efficient wind turbine that requires no hub, no nacelle and no gearbox.

No central axis

The WhisperRing® turbine has no central shaft. Instead, there is a ring with two halves rotating relative to each other, which incorporates the generator. The design eliminates the need for an expensive gearbox and large expensive magnets, significantly reducing weight.

High-tech materials

The turbine is made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymeres (CFRP), a composite material of carbon fibers and thermosetting resin. The use of CFRP adds strength where needed and eliminates weight where possible. WhisperRing® carbon elements are easily produced and 3D printed, so to speak, based on the CAD design. Huge molds, as in conventional wind turbines, are therefore not necessary.

These materials can also be easily recycled after the end of their useful life.
